Journal.

Plan the quarter, run the day — a journal built for getting things actually done.

What it does

Numyl Journal is a daily planner for people who run their year in 13-week sprints. Set a quarter's worth of outcomes, plan each week against them, and then work the day on a two-page spread — three targets, broken into blocks, dropped onto a half-hour schedule. The big picture and the next half hour, on the same screen.

It's a planner and a journal at once: time-block the day, then write what happened, with photos and notes kept right in the page. Look back through past entries, a month calendar, and per-quarter reviews to see the work you actually did. It's live today at journal.numyl.com.

Field guide-A · How it works

The quarter, the week, the day.

Workshop method
Step 1

Set the quarter

Anchor a 13-week period and list the outcomes you want to hit. A lead-measures scorecard tracks the handful of habits that actually move them, week by week.

Step 2

Plan the week

Each week pulls from the quarter: a short list of weekly goals plus the daily habits behind them. The week is the unit of execution — small enough to finish, big enough to matter.

Step 3

Run the day

Open the day to a two-page spread — your three targets and their blocks on the left, a half-hour schedule on the right. Arm a block, tap a time slot, and it's on the calendar.

Step 4

Reflect & look back

Jot notes and drop in photos as the day goes. Then page back through Past Entries, the month Calendar, and monthly reviews to see what you actually did — not what you meant to.

Field guide-B · What's built in

A planner and a journal, in one page.

The pieces of a good day — goals, a schedule, and a place to reflect — on a single spread instead of three apps.

The daily spread

A two-page layout: the day's plan and three targets on the left, a Morning/Afternoon schedule on the right. The whole day at a glance.

Time-block your targets

Break a target into blocks and assign each to a half-hour slot. Slots are exclusive, so the plan stays honest about what fits.

Three targets a day

Not a bottomless to-do list — three things that matter, broken into the blocks it'll take to get them done.

Rich notes

A full formatting toolbar — headings, lists, color, links — for the day's notes, reflections, and what came up.

Photos in the page

Drag, drop, or paste photos straight into a day. They're uploaded to private storage, never pasted as throwaway data.

13-week roadmap

Outcome goals and a lead-measures scorecard for the quarter, so the daily work always rolls up to something bigger.

Weekly plan

Weekly goals and the daily habits behind them, mapped to the active 13-week period — the bridge between the quarter and today.

Past entries & calendar

Browse every day you've written in a list or a month calendar, and review how each period actually went.

Who it's for

Anyone who plans in quarters and executes by the day — founders, operators, students, and anyone who's read The 12 Week Year and wanted a tool that actually fits the method. If you keep a paper planner and a notes app and wish they were the same thing, this is for you.

Start today

Plan the quarter — then just run the day.
